I am fearful of our nation’s future in regards to economics because of the 12 trillion $ debt we are in. I’m looking for steps that individuals can take in helping out nation recover from this whole mess. Is getting rid of our own individual debt a viable solution?

One that actually works.I’m afraid to put my money into these people if they aren’t really going to help. I’m only about 1,000 to 2,000 dollars and debt. I wanted to see who is actually on these programs and if they actually work from experiences.
I have a 3 month old baby and I don’t work. My boyfriend only makes a little amount. We don’t have much to spend.

Yes, the rich could have invested the money from the Bush/Republican tax cuts, into American jobs for the last 10 years and counting. It does not seem to be the case. With this and currently out of control spending, how does it make sense to cut taxes on millionaires and billionaires. Wouldn’t ending the tax cuts and cutting spending, be a more efficient way of reducing the debt and spending deficit? Thoughts?

I filed for bankruptcy Jan 2005. Credit card company “wrote off” the debt Jan 2005. I thought it was included with my bankruptcy, but when I check my credit report, it claims I still have the debt, it’s just written off. To be specific, my credit report states that I still have this amount from the one creditor as “revolving debt”. Shouldn’t it state that it was included in Chapter 7 like all of the other creditors state? Any help would be wonderful. I just want to know if I have something valid to dispute.

I have a debt of about just $1300 which was about $2000 in the summer, I’m currently working and paying more than the minimum. Is it better just to pay the minimum, set the aside money each month then pay off the whole thing?
