More and more, large numbers of newspapers, tv and radio stations are owned by the same companies. Even in the same city. With less competition between the mediums, there is less opportunity for reporting and comment that would contradict the reporting and comment from competing media. Thus, if one newspaper prints lies, for example, there may not be another medium to call attention to the fact that they lied. Trust me, this is NOT good.
